Pee Phew 2

He is back (See Scott and Britta's Blog) They got a better picture of our 'special' visitor. I guess the cat is in or out because we are going to keep the doors shut. Hey Alisha want a cat? The skunk likes cat food so we could maybe catch him and send him too. TJ's freedom will be greatly diminished now because the doors will no longer be open. At least no one got sprayed!!

New Kitchen

We tried to post this before we left but it didn't publish. So here it is again. We have been working on our kitchen and we replaced our frige. Sherri is all smiles.

We have some more work to do. Like new countertops and Sherri may replace/remove the wallpaper but that is a huge job! Not sure we want to do that, just yet.

The Queen Creek Gathering

Here is a picture of all of us November 27th 2006. Sherri, Brett, Sarah, Olivia, Amy, Jeff, Jillian, Alisha, Gary. We had a great time down at Alisha and Jeff's home. The two babies are just great!!! All had a great time. Boy Alisha lives clear out in the boonies!! We wish all of the family could have made it but then the toilet probably would have overflowed three times!!

Sod Quest

Today we cut our lawn in half. We got this bright idea to cut the sod. What A job! We only had 3 hours to do it in(the sod cutter was $80 for 3 hours)and Boy! were we beat! Afterwards, we went to donate blood and Dad's heartbeat was too high to donate!(just barely) I teased him and said that I worked him too hard! He just had to take an aspirin too! Guess I did! (my back aches and Dads toe is paining! he stubbed his toe 3 weeks ago and he thinks he broke it!It sure is causing lots of problems! He can hardly walk, sometimes--like now.) Boy! I'm afraid that the easy part is cutting the sod! What are we up against now??? We have to get some people to come and take the sod away for us- but we will if noone wants it. I hate to do it, though.

Peaches

For FHE, we decided to can some peaches that we got in Utah. First time in quite a while! ( We picked up some early peaches when we picked up the bike in Utah) We forgot how and so we looked it up on the internet--had to buy a new canner because I threw mine away because I just knew that I never wanted to go to ALL that work again! Now , you should see the nice peaches on our little scrawny tree! But I'm worn out!

OH NO!

Well I did it. I bid on ebay for a Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 and won! Great, now we have to go to Utah to get it. It is a new 2005 still at the dealer in SLC. I thought I would get outbid but I didn't. Gotta be careful on ebay. Talked to Brett and maybe they will bless Olivia this weekend, so it might be a good trip anyway.
OH NO!-Dad

pee-phew

We Have a SKUNK in our garage! Evidently he has been living there for awhile(behind the cabinets) and only comes out at night. We thought it was funny that the cat was so skinny and didn't like to be in the garage at all. We saw him the last 3 nights, but we thought he just came in at night so we started shutting all the doors-boy it is hot in the garage!--but tonite we saw him go behind the cabinets--and figured out that where he lives! and comes out at night to feed on cat food. This afternoon , I think he was in a box--I thought it was the cat--scratching and pulling the boxc lid in and out--so I hollered kitty-kitty and no answer so I figured he was out--come to find out it was the skunk! I called the sherif next door and asked him what to do????? because I couldn't find the number for the animal control--He said there is NO animal control in Fallon and he didn't think that anyone would do anything anyway.HE SURE WOULDN'T! He said that if he doesn't come out tonite with all the doors open, to call the sherif's office, hopefully something will be done!!!

Leheman Cave and other stuff

To the left is a picture of M51 or the wirlpool galaxy that I took Friday night. It was a great trip. Even caught some fish! Above is a picture inside the cave. It was cool (about 50 degrees). We took the kids repelling on friday at a remote resort in Utah called Hidden Canyon Guest Ranch. It is remote and seculded from everything but it has a lot of neat ammenities.

Went on a hike on saturday up to the bristlecone pine tree grove. There were only about 20 trees there but it was really interesting. Standing front of a tres that was 'born' 1150 years before Christ is humbling.

I had a througt regarding the picture of the galaxy above and the scripture came to my mind in D&C 84:45 talking about the light of Christ. That light has traveled many eons to get here to earth and it fills the space everywhere, but we have to know where to look in order to 'see' it The light of Christ is everywhere but we have to look for it in order to 'see' it. Hope all is well with everyone. Kristen sent us a picture of Sam that I really like.

Jupiter

The picture of Jupiter is one I took this last week. Saturn was taken this past spring. My telescope was damaged and is now fixed better than ever. The Saturn picture was edited to enhance the picture. Jupiter was how it was after merging the RGB pictures. (The blog site must downgrade the picture resolution, it looks better in the original)

August 1, 1950 (oops 2006)

Well I am now 56 years old! My birthday was typical of late. Had to go to work! Went to the Dr. in the afternoon and then off to the Sizziler for Dinner. Got to see Sam, Jon and Kristen. Sam is quite the boy as seen from the pictures. It was a good day! Somehow little children can make you happy and my grandchildren sure do make me happy. All of them and the ones to come this year. I am very excited to soon have three more! It was so good to hear from all of you on my birthday and sure do love all of you.

Thrifty Time

Gary and Sherri
Well, it's that time again! We have 'gobs' ofused clothes to sort out and get ready for the Big Giveaway on Sat.(For a service project, we give lots of clothes to the community as a Bi-Stake activity)(Last year, people left with many big black garbage bags of clothes. It's a good deal because the clothes are in better condition that you would get at a thrift store.

This is from a prior post (Sherri was having some problems with the post and it didn't get published).
Whew! Those cherries are gone and we just returned from Park City.It was a well deserved and relaxing week. Scott and Britta , Brett and Sarah and Amy joined us for a few days each.It was quite a few days--I bought 4 lemons to eat with our fish because noone goes to Jordonelle and comes up emptyhanded; so Gary, Brett, Scott and Sarah(she was a real trooper through it all) got up early one day, rented a boat, got some fishing gear, and headed out; but came up with nothin!after trolling the lake for 4 hours. Disappointing to say the least- so we went swimming! Then we came down to Orem and had a picnic with the Peterson "clan"and Aunt Lois' grandkids. We rode the tram up the hill on the 3rd and watched the fireworks. The tram ride was great!Later we rode the other tram up the bigger mountain and went hiking --it was good! This tram was enclosed and stuffy! but the air was cool and refreshingand the hike was wonderful!Gary wouldn't go play" imaginary" tennis with me though(you had to bring your own rackets)Thenoff to Denise's graduation. Scott and Britta performed )Britta sang while Scott played the guitar--it was the best!)/Denise is now a full-fledged aesthetician(hope that's spelled right)What a full week, but one we will remember for a long time.(We even found some real good factory stores--alot of them!) NOthing like 'blowin' all your money--but it was for a good cause.( I do think we'll get a net for our cherry tree, though.)Gary and Sherri
We had an awesome time in Park City!! Brett, Sarah and Scott and Britta joined us Sat. eve and we all went to church on Sun. The bishop took the stand to welcome everyone, but he welcomed the members which numbered about 85 in a congregation of visitors of about 500. It was cool! Everyone who got up to bear their testimonies remarked that they had never borne them to a "stake conference" before. Mon, the guys + Sarah pulled themselves out of bed early and were all excited about going fishing. They got their tackle, rented a fishing boat , got their licenses, etc. and sailed off into the wild blue yonder in search of fish. They trolled the lake about 4 hours, but alas! no luck! What made the whole thing worse is that they had to pay for parking!(togetherness is what counts anyway, huh?)(Sarah put up with alot up there)They were disappointed, but so were we--we had our taste buds all set for fish that nite!Amy and Nicole Tucker joined us on Mon. and we rode the gondola up to the lodge where they had a 'free concert' and then fireworks. (The gondola ride was fun--wind blowing in your face, but it didn't go fast enough!)Then down to Orem to a family picnic on Tues.Everyone had to go back to work, but Scott and Britta came up for awhile more. The weather was grand, Scott went on a mountain bike ride, Britta jogged, we were lazy. and everyone relaxed and enjoyed each other. We went swimming(but Gary wouldn't play 'imaginary tennis' with me) and then Thurs. Scott and Britta and us rode another(enclosed)gondola up the highest mountain; went hiking for a few hours , came back and relaxed the rest of the eve.It was a full week, but very enjoyable. Wish more of you could have been there.

Stripped

At noon yesterday, there were some cherries left; but when Gary came home at 4:oo, the trees were stripped of any cherries. Frustrating--to say the least! (We have decided that we need to get a net of some sort.)

Bloggin thing

Gotta keep this Bloggin thing goin'. It's really neat to hear what's going on in yur lives, if I can get into the swing of things here. Oh, better explain the birds eat all around the cherries and just leave the pit hangin in the tree. or they will knock the cherry down and eat it off of the ground.

Cherries, cherries, and more cherries

Opps! Just learning how this thing works! We've got cherries coming out of our ears! The cherry tree is loaded! I guess if I was really ambitious, I would make a cherry pie--but that is just not me! I'd rather eat them. The birds are having a Hey-Day! We have sooooooooo many birds--you would not believe it and they come because of the cherry tree. There was probable 7-10 out there eating our cherries this morning! At least! I've invited the missionaries over to pick some cherries--if there is any left!I miss not having kids to climb the cherry tree for me--I tried to get up there--but alas! I'm too clutsy.I got most of them off the bottom limbs, but I guess I'll just have to let the birds have the top. I have an owl in the tree(a fake one) but the birds are too darn smart for it--they just ignore it. or they wait until I go and then come back--darn things!
___UTAH! HERE WE COME!___ We've rented a cabin up in Park City the 1st -June 8. It'll be nice to get out of Fallon for awhile. Dad wants to go fishing and we are planning on having a good time. Anyone is welcome to come up! We are expecting Scott and Britta for a while and Brett and Sarah, too. Probably Amy( if she can get off work--she's coming home the next week also, so it might create a problem.) Hey--what happened to Amy!--we'd love to see all of you guys, but I realize distance creates a little problem.
