Aspen Retreat

We went up to Aspen Grove over the weekend to get away from it all. The trees were all turning colors- it was the perfect weekend! We decided to go on a hike up to the falls to see all the spectacular colors!

The hike took about an hour over pretty rough terrain, but we made it! Whew!

By the time we got there, it was time to turn back and go to the next workshop and dinner. Besides it was turning dark and we didn't want to be there at dark.

We had some speakers, which were very good and then we had time to explore. They had miniture golf, shuffle board, a rope course(Gary and I are too bottom-heavy for that)ping pong, pool, swimming pool, hikes, a playground for the kids , a cowboy and Indian village, and of course raquetball. They had meals all prepared for us too. Yeah! So we just relaxed!
It was quite a weekend!

The End!

Hoofin it -Video

Everyone is concentrating, except Ranae-she's having a good ol' time.

Hoofin it

Here are a couple of pics from my little tap recital. (It started out as just exercise and fun, but it turned into this! (Sorry it took so long in coming--most of the pics and videos didn't turn out 'cause I was in the back row behind people in a couple of the dances and Gary was over in the corner on one side and I was on the other side--but we'll work at it and see if we can get some video) The teacher is in the ty-dyed shirt.

Rain, rain go away....

Although I'm really thankful for all the rain, our garden looks really sad. We wanted to wait until it quit raining to put in our garden--we had a few days of sunshine--then it rained some more----whew. Our garden has a few new leaves on the plants, but that it all--I'm not sure if it because of all the rain or because it needs nitrogen that the leaves are yellow.I don't know if there will be enough sunshine now to have a long enough growing season for the garden????(To top it all off, some elk walked through our garden--luckily the plants were small enough, they missed every0ne with their hooves! It's time for a fence!)

Circle of Doors

Just got through reading 'Circle of Doors' written by my cousin, Ranse. It is his first attempt at publishing, but it is really good. The first part is kinda slow, but then it really stretches your imagination and is really good. It has quite a bit of doctrine in it and some people may think its weird, but if it keeps me captivated it must be good! (Aunt Polly gave it to me for Christmas and I just finished it. After I got half way through it only took me 4 days to finish it; probably because my neighbor wants to read it and so I hurried.)(This is coming from someone who didn't like the Harry Potter books and is not an avid reader.)

Not again!

Just trying to catch up on what's been happening. We are still getting snow!!
Winter doesn't want spring to get here. Summer will happen and spring will probably be skipped.
(But the temp is supposed to be up to 70 next week)(Can't wait to go to Ariz.)

I've had fungus in my toes and at Christmas Ray told me to soak my toes in vinegar and it would kill the fungus. Well, I don't think I did it diligently enough and it kinda worked. Then I heard on the radio that Listerine has the properties in it to kill fungus, so I tried that. After 2 months of doing these ,I just broke down and got some fungus killer at Walmart, but it takes a month too! I should just break down and get some antibiotics from the doc!

We sure enjoyed Jeff's family when they were here, but I only took a few pictures(I'm terrible!) Morgon sure had fun making 'snow angels ' in the snow though.

Winter again!

I thought we were through with winter for awhile; but alas, we got a BIGsnowstorm last night. It was blizzard conditions--it took Gary 4 hours to get home from the airport; people ran out of gas because they were stalled in their cars on the freeway. a busload of kids didn't make it home by 9:00 and so they had to walk back to the elementary school and stay the night. IN the second picture,Gary is in there somewhere snowblowing. We must have received 8+ inches! I'm sick of snow and want spring! I can only hope!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! Gary printed these cards for me and put them everywhere! even in the shower, and the washer, computer, dishwasher, etc.
Thanks to Sam and Morgon, too. I hope everyone has a super day!

update

Someone asked for a picture of my Christmas tree; well here it is-finally.

And a picture of the room that we are finishing(Gary and I ARE NOT room contractors by a big margin so it's taking us forever--one hour at a time is all we can muster if even that! After Ray was here; it went 2 whole weeks before we even did anything(we were so sick of it!) This is the only picture I have--the other pictures will not download onto the computer for some reason--anyway HAPPY VALENTINES DAY (I hope all received their valentines(I sent everyone one; but some did not go through, I''m afraid-let me know if someone didn't receive one.)

Aryana

Aryana was here. We had loads of fun shopping, shopping, shopping. Everyday shopping! She had lots and lots of things to get for her friends in Brazil. We finally found the kinsei shoes that she was looking for.(They only sell them in running stores--they are the top of the line Asics shoes and they cost $800 in Brazil) She also had fun in Victorias Secret where she must have gotten close to $200 worth of stuff. She eventually had to buy a new suitcase to take the stuff home in and it weighed 49 pounds! We made chocolate chip cookies with lots of chocolate chips in them; but the visit was too short!

Here are some of the pictures from Christmas of the lights of Salem and Spanish Fork. The one picture is of Salem pond where they had floating Christmas trees.

It was a beautiful White Christmas!
