This beautiful city has many beaches and bays and the city is built all around them.

This is as close as we could get to the Christus--it was being cleaned and renovated, so they wouldn't let anyone up the mountain.

Aryana's friend who took us to church with her. She hadn't been a member very long, but she was marrying a return missionary from Brazil and then going to the temple later. She was a special girl. She converted her Mom and her Dad was taking the discussions.When we went to church in Goiania, we met a missionary that knew Carwin--actually he lived just down the street from him and was in his ward!

3 hour Barbeque

We were eating constantly for 3-4 hrs. This is a biscuit with meat inside. Then we had slices of pork, chicken, beef , etc.
The first week we had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and another dinner at 10.00pm.
These little kids loved to speak English to me. She was 3 and had had lessons in school for 1 yr. He was 8 and had had English in school for 5 yrs.

Security

High fences , electric wires on the tops of the houses and the fences and grates on all of the stores are common. High gates are on all the houses in front and you have to have someone let you in. You're out of luck if noone is home-- or you can use a security code.

Lunch before the Graduation. Notice the brain food in the last picture, fish, rice and good food. We had sprite, uva(grape juice) and other juices.

First day's in Brazil! Aryana took us to meet her Grandmother. She treated us to a Piano recital. That night we went to a convocation at a sweltering Catholic Church. No air conditioning.
